About Us

Who We Are

We are a Philippine government services information platform dedicated entirely to helping Filipinos understand and complete the NBI clearance process — from booking an appointment to walking out with a cleared document in hand.

This website was built after one too many confusing experiences with outdated guides, incomplete instructions, and misleading third-party sites that mixed up old and new procedures. The NBI Online Clearance System has changed significantly since the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) migrated its services to clearance.nbi.gov.ph. Most content on the internet still describes a process that no longer exists. We started this site to fix that.

We cover the full process: creating an account on the NBI clearance portal, booking an appointment, paying the application fee, visiting an NBI branch, claiming your clearance, and renewing it before it expires. We also cover common problems — failed biometrics, hit records, multi-purpose clearance applications, and what to do when the portal is down or your transaction is stuck.

What This Site Covers

NBI Clearance Online Appointment Step-by-step guidance for the current online appointment system at clearance.nbi.gov.ph — account registration, date and branch selection, fee payment via GCash, Maya, bank transfer, or convenience store, and what to bring on the day of your appointment.

NBI Clearance Application for First-Time Applicants A dedicated walkthrough for Filipinos applying for an NBI clearance for the first time — including valid ID requirements, how the biometrics capture works, and what “FOR VERIFICATION” or “HIT” status means on your application.

NBI Clearance Renewal How to renew an expiring or expired clearance online using your existing account. We cover whether you still need to visit a branch for renewal, what has changed in the renewal process, and how to check the validity of your current clearance.

NBI Clearance for OFWs The NBI clearance requirements for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) differ from the standard application in certain processing situations. We explain the OFW lane, processing time differences, and how to request expedited release when a departure date is near.

NBI Clearance for Employment, Travel, and Legal Purposes Different end-uses require different handling at the NBI. We break down what “for local employment,” “for abroad,” and “for legal purposes” mean for your application, and whether the purpose affects processing time or validity.

NBI Branch Directory and Contact Information We maintain updated information about NBI branches across Metro Manila and key provincial offices — including addresses, operating hours, and how to contact them directly for appointment-related concerns.

NBI Clearance Fees and Payment Channels The current NBI clearance fee is PHP 130 for the clearance plus a service charge that varies by payment channel. We list all accepted payment methods, common payment errors, and what to do if a payment goes through but no appointment slot is confirmed.

Common Issues and How to Resolve Them What to do when you have a “HIT” on your record, how to request a review of your application, what documents to bring if you share a name with someone with a criminal record, and how to follow up on delayed clearances through the NBI’s official channels.

Who This Site Is For

Residents applying for the first time — we guide you from zero, assuming no prior knowledge of the system.

Applicants renewing an expiring clearance — we cover what’s changed so you don’t waste a trip following outdated steps.

OFWs processing clearance before deployment — we understand the time pressure involved and focus on what actually matters for your timeline.

HR professionals and employers — we answer the most common questions about clearance validity, what the document confirms, and how to verify one.

Students and fresh graduates — NBI clearance is one of the first government documents most Filipinos apply for before their first job. We make that process as straightforward as possible.

How We Research and Update Content

Every guide on this site is written based on the current live state of the NBI Online Clearance System at clearance.nbi.gov.ph, cross-checked against official NBI Philippines announcements and verified through active use of the portal. When the NBI updates its system — which it does periodically — we review and update affected content as quickly as possible.

We do not copy press releases or reword other websites. When we describe a step, it is because we have verified that step against the current portal interface. When a process changes, we update the article and note the date of the last revision at the top of the page.

We are not affiliated with the National Bureau of Investigation or any government agency. We do not offer clearance processing services, fix HIT records, or facilitate payments on your behalf. Everything we do is information — clear, current, and practically useful.

A Note on Accuracy

The NBI clearance system is an active government platform that updates without prior notice. Processing times, fee structures, available payment channels, and appointment availability can change at any time. We do our best to reflect the current state of the system, but we always recommend verifying the latest details directly at clearance.nbi.gov.ph or by contacting NBI Philippines through their official channels before your appointment.

If you spot outdated information anywhere on this site, use the contact form to let us know. We take accuracy seriously and address corrections promptly.
